No Regrets

Dear friends,

Obviously, this is not the result we were working towards. So many friends, family members and supporters volunteered their time, talent and treasure in the hope of making our County more affordable, more competitive, and more conducive to building a future for our next generation. I am so grateful to all of you and the thousands of Montgomery County residents who entrusted me with their vote.

While there are still votes to be counted, I want to extend my congratulations to our party nominees for County Executive and Montgomery County Council. I look forward to working with each of you in my role as a member of the Gaithersburg City Council to improve the lives of our residents.

From the moment we launched our campaign, we drove the narrative about housing affordability, job creation and fiscal responsibility. We secured key endorsements from a broad coalition of community organizations, despite getting in the race later than most. And we were the only campaign talking about making it easier to get around the County in ways other than public transit.

We traveled to every corner of Montgomery County—from Takoma Park to Poolesville, Burtonsville to Bethesda, Derwood to Damascus, and just about everywhere else in between. None of that happens without an outstanding team and an incredibly supportive spouse.

I’m so proud of the work we have done together, and despite the outcome I have zero regrets.

Thank you for your trust, your friendship, and your belief in a better Montgomery County.

With gratitude,
